A velociraptor is a real dinosaur that existed during the late Cretaceous period. The word "velociraptor" means "swift seizer," and the adults measure up to 6.8 feet long. Most people imagine them being featherless, but they actually did have feathers that were probably for warmth. If these dinosaurs still existed now, they would probably be classified as odd, flightless birds.
